This series contains testimony and proceedings before the State Oil and Gas Board in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Board met monthly on a regular basis to consider various petitions and applications. The petitions, mainly from corporations but from a few individuals, concern requests for permission to drill, to enlarge units, to amend rules, to apply for a natural gas determination, et cetera. The petitions are assigned docket and item numbers, and various witnesses testify under direct and/or cross examination in support or opposition to the petition. The Board then gives or denies approval. Included also are lists of Board members and staff, exhibits, and appearances, a copy of the notice of the meeting, and the reporter's certificate.
